Jeremy Baker
Jeremy
Baker is a native Floridian who has lived on both the West and East coasts of
Florida. He came to Miami in 1994 to pursue his education at Florida
International University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business
Administration and a Master's Degree in Public Administration.
Having fallen in love with the community and the cultures of South Florida, Mr.
Baker now calls Miami his home.
Jeremy currently serves as Director of Finance and Administration for the Florida Association for Volunteer Action in the Caribbean and the Americas (FAVACA.org) a nonprofit organization with offices in Miami and Tallahassee and is the Program Manager for FAVACA's $3 million dollar My Safe Florida Home Program contract from the Volunteer Florida Foundation and the State of Florida. His organization provides short-term technical assistance to organizations throughout the region and is funded by Federal, State and private sources. Previously, Mr. Baker worked as Director of Finance & Administration for Shake-A-Leg Miami, a community water sports center for persons with disabilities and at-risk youth. Included in his duties at Shake-A-Leg Miami was management of federal, state and local grants. Mr. Baker has also worked as a grants manager at Florida International University, a Research I University and previously worked in private companies in the construction and information technology development industries. Mr. Baker currently serves on the Board of Chapter Advisors for the Sigma Phi Chapter of the International Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta and the Board of Directors for Global Exploration for Educators Organization (GEEO.org) a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and assisting as many teachers as possible to travel abroad and then share their experiences with their students upon their return to the classroom. |
